Anonymous asked: What do you do when you are inconsolable?
I give myself some time to be inconsolable. I don’t try to do anything BUT be inconsolable. Maybe listen to some kind of neutral music, try not to beat myself up about what I am feeling or eating or thinking, maybe check in with the weather and try to get right with what’s happening around me, but mostly just lie in bed with either an ice pack or heat pack and cry or be mad and try to remember to just be what I am right then instead of pressuring myself to be “better.” Then I get on tumblr and start again, slow, try to do something that counts as work that I also enjoy. I’m lucky because I can usually find something.
But first, just wallow. You have no responsibility but to yourself. No pressure. Just do you for a little bit. That’s what I do.
